Settled

A settled feeling has finally descended upon me. The boxes are unpacked, new routines have replaced old ones, and survival has give way to thriving. I’ve learned that my idea of change is somewhat unrealistic. It is slow and gradual, not instantaneous as I would have it. Real change, slow change, is lasting though, and so I wait for it like one waits for the gentle, painstaking unfolding of a new flower.

Beautiful analogy. So true. It's easy to be impatient for change in this gotta have it now world, especially when you want it so bad. (I'm thinking of my own impatience for change here.) After the endurance of waiting, the result is valued and appreciated so much more. :) Miss ya Steph.
